MahoganyBooks is a family bookstore built for readers of the African diaspora. Husband and wife team Derrick and Ramunda Young started it online in 2007 because they saw a need for Black literature that was not being met. A decade later, they opened their first physical store in Washington, DC, and they have since grown to a National Harbor location in Maryland and a spot inside Reagan National Airport. Every book on their shelves is chosen to strengthen pride, self-esteem, and community. Whether you shop online or walk into one of their stores, MahoganyBooks wants every reader to see themselves reflected on the page.
